And then the were 2...and a half.

So, i made the hugest mistake & put the tadpoles in the pond with the fishies. Not only did the koi actually eat one of the tads, but one of the fish (i don't know who) attacked one of the tadpoles & his tail is gone.

(I'm going to be sick)

There are now 2 tadpoles & i will have to wait until the morning to get them out. Hopefully the fish are full & don't eat anymore. Well, i guess that's life in the animal kingdom! The food chain...hmmm, that would be a good lesson for Lee!

We live in a condo, on the fourth floor..not much room for a backyard garden oasis. However with a little thinking we came up with something close enough for now :)

Orange and Yellow Magnolias, Purple and Violet Torenias, a Money Tree (Pachira) and a Pothos. We also made a little pond using a clear 15 gallon bin and a filter. To the pond we added some river stones, a sea biscuit (which has been removed), and a castle. In this picture you can see the Orange Oranda swimming around...Lee has named him "fatman".

The Koi is pretty shy and hides in the castle...

so i moved it to get a picture of him :)

Play Dough & Dinosaurs...a combination any boy (or girl!) will love!

This kept Lee and little brother entertained for about an hour, then of course, everything ended up on the floor :)

Lee enjoyed making different dino prints in the playdough and little brother enjoyed picking off any playdough stuck to the rocks!

This playdough is a staple in our house. We always have some around, and if we don't it's so easy to make we just make up a batch....or a couple.

This is the recipe:

1 cup flour

1 cup boiling water

1/2 cup salt

2 Tbs Cream of Tartar

1 Tbs Oil

Food coloring

Simply mix everything together! Be careful because it is hot! I added the food coloring when the dough was cool enough to knead, and i only added 2 drops at first. I added more to get the color i wanted.

These colors were used for our fake insect house. The green was the grass, the brown was dirt, and the blue was water.

After all the rain we got the last couple of days, you can imagine there were many.....

They did some more painting after painting their handprints!

Then they just started making a mess!
